Services/Fees
As your doula, I will provide a soothing touch and a calm, reassuring presence to guide you through the difficult times. I am there to help you achieve your vision of a memorable and satisfying birth experience. While I will not speak for you to the hospital staff, I will help you gather all the information you need to make informed decisions for your birth. I will also work with your partner to allow them to participate at their comfort level. Some fathers are not sure what to do and I will guide them during your labor so they can enjoy the experience as well.
Doula Services: ($800, birth and postpartum packages available)
Before birth I offer 24 hour a day phone support if you have any questions or concerns or if you think you are in labor. I am there to support you through the entire birth process and for a short time after delivery to help you with your first breastfeeding session.
Some of the comfort & support measures that I offer include:
*Aroma Therapy *Use of Birth Ball*Accupressure
*Guided Imagery *Keeping Parents Informed *A Soft, Calm Voice
*Music *Position Changes *Education and Advocacy
If you choose me as your doula, the second meeting also gives us an opportunity to discuss your wishes for the birth, create a birth plan (if desired), answer questions, give advice & share information about different birthing techniques.
I stay for up to two hours after the birth to help with family bonding & breastfeeding. I will also come to your home within 1 week of the birth to make sure breastfeeding is going well & you are feeling okay. I will answer questions & discuss your birthing experience as well as provide you a birthing log or short story about the things I observed in your birth. I am also available by phone and email to help you with any concerns on breastfeeding or baby’s care.
I know of many local resources and can help with much more than just labor. I prepare all of my clients to make educated choices for their birth, mentor them and make sure that they have everything that they need for themselves and the new baby.
I do recommend you take a childbirth class to know your options in birth and work towards the birth you want. Childbirth classes also help you to understand hospital procedures and learn about different hospital policies. I am a certified childbirth and lactation educator and can also offer you in home classes at your convenience.
